‘Tips for Tax’ workshop helps navigate the tax maze!

Tax season can often feel like navigating through a maze blindfolded. For the self-employed, understanding the intricacies of tax laws and maximising returns can be particularly daunting.

To help the self-employed community we recently hosted a ‘Tips for Tax’ workshop, providing a beacon of clarity in this complex terrain.

The event, held at Redruth RFC, attracted a diverse crowd of self-employed individuals from various professions – taxi drivers, home helps, entertainers, construction workers, and more. The turnout was fantastic, and the atmosphere buzzed with enthusiasm for tackling tax matters head-on.

Led by Pete Masters, a Chartered Tax Advisor from Tolvern, the workshop covered a wide range of tax tips and advice. Pete expertly guided attendees through the labyrinth of tax planning, from understanding deductions to optimising returns. With his wealth of knowledge and clear explanations, attendees left armed with valuable insights and actionable strategies (and a bag of Multiply goodies).

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. One attendee remarked, “It has given me more confidence about setting up my own business,” while another expressed gratitude, saying, “There were lots of interesting tips I didn’t know, thank you!” This sentiment resonated with many, reaffirming the importance of such educational initiatives in demystifying tax complexities.

This workshop wasn’t just about disseminating information; it was about empowering Cornwall’s self-employed business community providing practical guidance and fostering a sense of community and support. By equipping attendees with practical insights and strategies, the workshop encouraged them to take control of their tax affairs with confidence. The Multiply team ensured inclusivity and accessibility, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and professions, supporting local entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth.

As tax laws continue to evolve, initiatives like ‘Tips for Tax’ play a pivotal role in fostering financial literacy and resilience. Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out, understanding the nuances of tax planning can make all the difference in your financial success.
